Puppy Parties

Did you know that Camp Bow Wow Pittsburgh South offers Puppy Parties? Your dog loves Camp Bow Wow, so why not celebrate his birthday/adoption day/other special occasion here with 2 to 14 of his closest friends?

We offer party packages on Sunday afternoons while Camp is closed, so you, your dog, and all of the other canine and human guests will get exclusive use of our indoor and outdoor play areas for 90 minutes. We also include decorations, a cake for the dogs, soft drinks and bottled water for human guests, party favors, and one Camp staff member to oversee the festivities. Doggy party guests do not have to be Camp clients, but we do require proof of current rabies, distemper, and bordetella vaccinations for the safety of our regular Campers.

If you're thinking of celebrating with your dog this summer, what better place to do it than here at Camp Bow Wow? Please call Camp for pricing information or to schedule your dog's next big bash!

Rover Alert!

These two dogs were found by the side of a road in Washington County on Saturday. Please read their descriptions and contact Camp if you can help return them to their home or if you could consider taking them into your own home.

From the woman who found them: "They are amazingly sweet-tempered and well-behaved. They were clearly someone's loved pets, but they were most definitely abandoned. They had no collar, tags, or microchips, and the female's fur was so heavily matted I had to cut as much off as possible to free her tail and make her more comfortable. Still, they have allowed us to bathe them, blow-dry and handle them extensively. The vet saw them on an emergency basis on Saturday night and said they hadn't been on their own too long and were extremely well behaved.

The male is unneutered, about 2 years old, and is cream with tan spots all over. We are calling him Chance because his disposition is so similar to that doggie in "Homeward Bound."

The female is undetermined if spayed or not. The vet checked and said either she hasn't been spayed or she has but the scar has healed over well. She is approx. 8 years old and has a little doggie arthritis but is otherwise healthy. We call her Shadow because she is similar in temperment to the doggie in "Homeward Bound" that was sweet and wise.

They both follow basic commands and, once left in the garage, will go to sleep and not howl or bark. They do, of course, get barky and excited when they see us and go outside for their walk, but they stay on the lead and do not indicate any aggression to people or dogs. In fact, people who have encountered them have commented on their disposition.

If you know of anyone with land, time and love that can take them in as a pair, we'd be so thrilled for them. We have 4 elderly cats and can not introduce these sized dogs into the house, but they appear to be indoor/outdoor dogs."

Mutt Match

Love is in the air at Camp Bow Wow Pittsburgh South! Have you ever wondered who your dog's favorite playmates are at Camp? Now is your chance to find out. During the first two weeks of February, the Camp Counselors are playing matchmaker, and your dog might get hit by Cupid's arrow.

Just make a $1 donation to the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, and we will enter your dog's name into our doggy dating pool to come up with his or her perfect complement. On or shortly after Valentine's Day, you will receive a detailed profile of your dog's "mutt match," including the days you are most likely to find their mate at Camp so that you can arrange a play date!

Play Mutt Match during your next visit to Camp and help your pooch find true puppy love!
